Mellow Yellow Monday #20

I love this photo, my cousin took it in Coffs Harbour, NSW Australia. The plant is called a Banksia.

Oh Wow - Poor Mr Linky! RIP. (lol) Not really lol, but what can ya do, eh?

Thanks to everyone who participated - If you used the link to your actual MYM post I was able to recover (most) of them. If you just left a link to your blog I didn't include it because it just gets too confusing. Also, check out the comments for more links.

wow! so new to me, it's so unique!!

Banksia is one of our native flora. It withstands and outlasts the aridity of the climate here and doesn't need much maintenance. You plant and forget and blooms are as copious as the stars in the night. Very generous blooming shrubs and trees they are.

Wanna find yourself here?

Interesting plant! I've never seen it before.

I've never seen a plant like it before either - It almost looks like a ear of corn broke in half. That's a beautiful background for the flower.

I see your Mister Linky is under the weather too. Lot of that going around - hope it's not that crazy new flu. Get well soon, Mister Linky!

This is really a trippy looking plant/flower. Sooo unusual. Reminds me of an eaten corn cob!
I am sorry you are having this headache with the links. Hopefully everything will get better here in awhile. I am sure everyone is with me on the fact we are so happy you have this meme.
Thanks again for it!
PEACE!!!

Wow--how cool is that! Looks like a fuzzy ear of corn turned into a flower. I really like this one, Drowsey! Happy Mellow Yellow Monday to you. :D

KitchenMaus said...

And you took it by the beach? Beautiful!

Annie Jeffries said...

What an interesting and very pretty flower. It looks, at first glance, like the remains of an ear of corn. I also like the contrast between it's buttery yellow color and the silver green of its leaves.

This is a nice shot. Looks like similar to a corn fruit to me

Liza said...

First time I've seen that. TFS!

I think Mr. Linky is keeping all the wonderful pictures to himself.

Not unusual to see this plant for me! But it still surprises me just when it flowers! It is Autumn now and some are still flowering!

Great shot!

What a beautiful plant! Does it have a scent? I see the surf behind it - does it need salt air?

Here's my yellow not mellow bird!
