Mellow Yellow Monday #8

I love dandelions ... not sure why so many people around here are always trying to get rid of them. They remind me of my childhood and playing in the yard ... warm summer breezes.

I took this photo last summer. Luckily some places are banning pesticides and dandelions rule once again. And why not? They're so happy looking!

Thank you to Moon-Writer for this very cool award ... and there's yellow in it too! Thanks!!

Congratulations on your new award!

Dandelions are the best! Your picture is really great.

Congratulations on the award!! i think the dandelion thing is very regional sometimes.

I never truly appreciated their beauty until I lived in Maine.

Down here everyone just sees them as weeds that destroy their lovely smooth pampered lawns.

I know when we lived in Texas before Maine we fought to keep them out of our yard something fierce.

But, now I don't even ow until they are done...I simply love them. Your picture of them is wonderful and makes me feel happy.:-)))

Lovely and full of memories. As a child I got paid to pick the dandelions in our yard! A penny for every 10. Think a kid would work for that now?? Ha!

Drowsey, I love dandelions too! :D I hope you have a wonderful week ahead of you.

I worked one spring killing dandelions ... people go NUTS when they are in the lawn!

When I was a kid, I used to gather them for mom ((smile))

I live on five acres now as opposed to an urban lawn and last summer I began learning how to live with them.

This is my first Mellow Yellow Post and I'm happy to be joining in today.

I also love dandelions and wonder why so many people spend so much time and money trying to get rid of them. They actually are very good herbs for culinary use. I've never had a dandelion salad, but have read about them. When I raised rabbits, I gave them fresh picked Dandelion leaves, especially the new mothers as it helped to bring down the milk so all the babies would be well fed.

Happy MYM.

I love wildflowers too!! Nice photo & Happy Mellow Yellow Monday:)

And besides all that - dandelion greens are good-for-you components of salad mixes commonly found in the supermarket!

Ah Dandilions. The gardeners nightmare and yet what could be lovelier than a dandilion field in full bloom. We'll have to wait for about two months still for a sight like this here in Finland.

Can't wait for that dandelion yellow. I say this whilst looking out a new-fallen 8 inches of snow here in western Mass.

Chin up, though!

Happy MYM!
